NIRAB was established by Government to provide independent, expert advice on the research and innovation needed for nuclear energy to play a significant role in the UK’s future low carbon and secure energy mix and to create the environment in which the UK nuclear industry can contribute significantly to our economy. NIRAB's term as a temporary advisory board ran from January 2014 to December 2016.
